About Me
Ryan Conroy
Born and raised in Chestermere, AB, my passion for hockey started the first time my skates touched the ice on my second birthday. Since then my passion has grown through years of playing, practicing, and coaching in local communities like Chestermere, Calgary, Strathmore, Okotoks and Fort Saskatchewan. As a quick, intelligent—but often labeled “undersized”—defenseman, I quickly learned that success in hockey goes beyond skill.
I discovered that character is what truly sets elite players apart. This realization fueled my off-ice development—studying leadership, teamwork, coachability, and perseverance—while maintaining a strong commitment to academics; a feat only achieved through the values and guidance instilled by my own parents and mentor.
My journey is driven by a passion for growth, a love for learning, and the belief that hockey is a lifestyle that pushes you to become not just a better player, but a better person!

Coaching Career
Growing up with the game of hockey has not only allowed me to enjoy it as a player, but also as a coach!
From the age of 10, I began helping coach both spring and summer hockey programs for youth players. As my hockey experience and education grew, so did my responsibilities and leadership as a coach.
This allowed me to work as both support and head instructors at hockey camps such as Push-It Hockey (Chestermere) & Fort Hockey Development (Fort Saskatchewan) in my off-seasons.
In these roles, I ran camps, ice times and off-ice sessions focused around defensive skills, shooting & scoring, power skating, body-checking, day-camps, mental training, workouts and nutrition.
Throughout my Junior “A”, NCAA Div. 1 & Pro Career I have also been able to partake in numerous youth hockey practices, development camps and community skates where I have had the opportunities to share my knowledge and love for the game.
Collectively, these opportunities have allowed me to amass 14-years of coaching experience, on top of my 20 years of hockey and 22 years of skating!
